Do the freight carriers have insurance?

Although damage and loss are rare, Ship Smart recommends purchasing insurance to protect your goods. Freight carriers have liability limited to $0.10 per pound. Pickup and Inside Delivery warehouses must carry basic liability insurance, but this will not cover damage or loss in transit.
