Why do my goods need to be packaged for freight transit?

Once the items are back at the warehouse, our standard pack protocol is to bubble-wrap and cardboard-box the furniture items. Then, everything gets safely banded and secured to shipping pallets. We do this for two reasons: 

1. so that the items are consolidated and secured, which of course reduces the chance for loss during transit, and 
2. so they can quickly be loaded on and off the truck using industrial machinery, eliminating the possibility of damage due to improper handling.
